IMPORT TRADE CONTROL

SUBJECT,—Import of Fresh fruits, all sorts (S. No. 08.04 & 08.09) excluding (i) coconuts, (ii) cashewnuts and (iii) Dates from Afghanistan during August 1977—July 1978.

No. 82-ITC(PN)/77.—Attention is invited to Public Notice No. S5-ITC(PN)/77, dated 2nd August, 1977, wherein the policy and procedure for import of fresh fruits from Afghanistan and exports of certain commodities to that country for the period August, 1977—July, 1978, were announced2. It has been decided in relaxation of the provisions contained in para 5 (iii) of the afore-said Public Notice, that initial CCPs for the period August, 1977—July. 1978, may also be issued to applicants on the basis of completion of the counter- balancing in respect of CCPs issued to them in 1975.76, provided the applicants furnish bonds, supported by bank guarantees, to the licensing authorities concerned to the extent of 90 per cent of their entitlements for 1976-77 to ensure that the counter balancing will be completed during the current period i.e. August. 1977— July, 1978 against CCPs Issued during the preceding period i.e. August, 1976—July, 1977, and to be Issued, during the current licensing period, i.e. August; 1977—July ( 1113 )
