IMPORT TRADE CONTROL
New Delhi, the 15th October 1977
SUBJECT.—Facilities for import of raw materials, components, instruments etc., without the requirements of import licences by Research, and Development units.
No 82-ITC(PN)/77—Attention is invited to para 156 (viii) of Section I of the Import Trade Control Policy Book (Volume I) for the period April, 1977—March, 1978, in terms of which research and development institutions of repute not included in sub-paras (i) to (vii) of para 156 referred to above, but to which Chief Control- ler of Imports and Exports may, by notification, extends the facilities to import raw materials, component and apparatus, appliances etc., including items, import of which are canalised through public sector agencies, upto Rs. 5.00 lakhs per annum, without an import licence.
2. It has been decided to extend the facilities mentioned in para (1) above to
the following institutions—
