EXPORT TRADE CONTROL

SUBJECT.—Export of Cotton Yarn during 1977 No. 30-ETC(PN)/77.—Attention is invited to Export Control Order No E(C)O, 1977/AM(11), dated the 8th August, 1977 and Public Notice No 16- ETC(PN)/77 dated the 8th August, 1477 regarding banning of export of cotton yarn.

2 On a review of the position, it has been decided that export of cotton yarn against which firm contracts have been entered into on or before 8th August, 1977 will be allowed provided the contracts are supported by irrevoc- able Letters of Credits opened against such contracts on or before 30th Septem- ber, 1977, and provided further that shipments against such contracts are com- pleted by 31st December, 1977 Such firm contracts may or may not have been registered -with the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) Bombay, on or before 8th August, 1977. However, such contracts which have not been registered so far should be formally registered with the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council3 Exports against pre-ban commitments, as indicated above, will be allowed by the Licensing Authorities on the endorsement on the shipping- bill after neces- sary authorisation has been issued by the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, Bombay, K V SESHADRI.
