CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi, the 30th November 1977
G.S.R 722(E)—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, l944 the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance Department of Revenue No 299/77 Central Excises, dated the 15th October, 1977 namely —
In the said notification, for clause (iii) of the first proviso, the following clauses shall be substituted, namely,—-
"(iii) the outer race of each such bearing shall be embossed with the words "MILD STEEL" or ' MADE WITH MILD STEEL RACES" but, in the case of any such bearing manufactured with races which were pro- duced prior to the 7th December, 1977, the words "MILD STEEL" or "MADE WITH MILD STEEL RACES" may, instead of being embossed on the outer race of such . bearing, be printed thereon with acid, (IV) the inner most carton containing each such bearing shall be printed with
