No. 436(10)DIII/77.—The Government of India announce with profound regret the death of His Excellency Mr. S. Fida Hassan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in India, on Saturday the 10th December, 1977
2 His Excellency Mr S. Fida Hassan had been Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to India since 24th July 1973, when diplomatic relations were resumed between the two countries
3. The Government of India place on record their deep sense of sorrow on the untimely passing away of a diplomat of high distinc- tion and personal charm He had endeared himself to a large number of people and had made a significant contribution to the task of normalisation of relations between the two countries The Government have conveyed their feelings of sympathy to the Gov- ernment of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the bereaved family
