NOTIFICATION
CENTRAL EXCISES,
New Delhi, the 31st December 1977
GSR, 794(E)- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No 334/77-Control Excises dated the 1st December, 1977, the Central Government hereby fixes ,a tariff value of two hundred eighty five rupees per quintal for sugar falling under sub-item (1) of Item No 1 of the First Schedule to the said Act and chargeable with duty ad~valorem
Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to sugar required by the Central Government to be- sold under clause (f) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955)
2 This notification shall come into force on the 1st day of January, 1978.
