706 THE GAZFTTR OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II S,T, 3(i)lamendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministcy of Finance (LDcp.i.rlmerU of Revenue) No. 226/77 Central Excises dated the 15th July, 1077, nair,elv :—
In the said nolificalion, in the first proviso, for clause (iia), the following clause shall be substituted namely :—
"(iia) in the case of—
(a) cotton fabrics containing more than one-sixth by weight ot fibre or yarn or both of non-ccllulosic origin; and
(b) coating, suiting, tussors, corduroy, gaberdine, bed- lord, salin, dcnini, lappel, hulla fabrics, round mesh mosquito netling, lace, knitted fabrics, tapestry, fur- nishing fabric includingjacquard curtain cloth, gadlapet, mattress fabric, terry towel including turkish towel, terry towelling cloth including turkish towelling clolh, blanket, canvas, duck, filter cloth, tracing cloth, and bukrarn cloth.
manufactured on powerlooms (without spinning or processing plants) the appropriate rate of duly as specified in the Table shall be reduced by six per cent advalorcm if the duty on such fabric exceeds six percent advalorerr, and shall be exempted in full if the duty on such fabric dees not exceed six per cent adva'orem."

G.S.R. 404 (E).—In exercise of the powers confoc^d by sub- rule (I) of rule iJ of the Central Excise Rules, 1944. 'cad with sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Additional Dutie,> of tixcise (Goods of Special Importance) Act. 1957 (58 of 1957), the Central Government hereby makes the following fLi flier amend- ments in the notification of the Gc\eirrrci t rf Irci';i i"n trc Jde- partment of Revenue and Banking No. 136/77 Cenka* Excises, dated the 18th June, 1977, namely :—
In the said notification, in the first proviso, for c'ausc (ib) ihe following clause shall be substituted, namely :—
"(ib) in the case of—
(a) cotton fabrics containing more than one-sixtU by weight of fibre oi" yarn or both of non-ccllulosic origin; and

manufactured on powerlooms (without spinning of processing plants) the appropriate rate of duty as specified in the Table shall be reduced by six percent advalorom if the duly on such fabric exceeds six per cent advalorem, and shall be exempted in full if the duty on such fabric docs not exceed si* per cent, advalorem".
