NOTIFICATION

CUSTOMS
G.S.R. 411(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public inierest so to do, hereby exempli copper wire bars (produced out of copper reverts sent out of India for con- version) falling within Chapter 74 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the said First Schedule as is in excess of the duty which would be leviable if the value of the goods were equal to the aggregate of :—
(i) the cost of conversion, that is to say, labour charges, (ii) the cost of material used in such conversion, and (iii) the insurance and freight charges both ways :
Provided that the Assistant Collector of Customs is satisfied that—
(i) the copper wire bars are imported within three years of the date of
the export of copper reverts out of India, and
(ii) sufficient evidence exists to show that the copper wire bars imported have in fact been produced out of the copper reverts exported from India.
