PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 65—ITC(PN)/78

New Delhi, the 4th September, 1978

Subject : Import of Soda Ash.

F. No. IPC/3/15/78.—Attention is invited to the Depart- ment of Commerce Public Notice No, 57-ITC(PN)/78, dated the 1st August, 1978 in terms of which the item soda ash is canalised for import through State Chemicals and Pharmaceu- ticals Corporation of India Limited (CPC).

2. On a review of the position, it has been decided that Actual Users who had entered into firm contracts/commit- ments with overseas suppliers before 1-8-1978 for the pur- chase of soda ash may, without having to obtain clearance certificate from the CPC, import the item directly, limited, however to the extent of such contract/commitment. Actual Users concerned will have to produce at the time of clearance of the material documentary evidence satisfactory to the customs authorities so as to establish the fact and quantum of the respective contract/commitment finally enter- ed into with the foreign supplier before 1-8-1978.

3. Eligible Actual Users may submit their applications, supported by evidence of firm contracts with the overseas suppliers, to the concerned regional licensing authorities for direct import of the material.

PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 66—ITC(PN)/78 Subject :—Import Policy, 1978-79—Import of live attenua- ted Gumboro disease vaccine.

F. No. IPC/3/15/78.—Attention is invited to the Import Policy 1978-79 publish under the Department of Commerce Public Notice No, 22-ITC(PN)/78, dated the 3rd April, 1978.

2, Poultry vaccine excluding those in the Restricted List, are included in the banned list, vide Entry No. 427 in Ap- pendix 3 of the said policy. It has, however, been decided to allow the import of this item by hatcheries requiring it for vaccination of the parent and grant-parent stocks of poultry. Therefore, such of the hatcheries, which need to import this item on an ad hoc basis for vaccinating only the parent/ grand-parent stock may make their import applications as Actual Users to the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports, Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi, through the Joint Commissioner (Poultry), Department of Agriculture, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi.
