NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 16th November, 1978
CUSTOMS
G.S.R. 555(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied thai it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts cakium ammonium nitrate (C.A.N.) falling within Chapter 31 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India for use as manure, from *he whole of the duly of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule :
Provided that the importer, by execution of a bond in such form and for such sum may be specified by the Assistant Collectoi of Customs, binds himself to pay, on demand, in respect of such quantity of calcium ammonium nitrate (C.A.N.) which is not proved to the satisfaction of the Assistant Collector of Customs to have been used for the aforesaid purpose, and amount equal to the difference between the duty leviable on such quantity but for exemption contain- ed herein and that already paid at the time of importation.
