NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th December, 1978
8. O. 744 (E).—/ESS. COMM/IRON & STEEL.—In ex crciie of the powers confend by clause 17B of the Iron and Steel (Control) Order, 1956, the Central Government hereby make* the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the lute Ministry of Steel and Heavy Engineering No. S. O./1567/ESS COMM/lRON &. STEEL, dated the 7th April, 1971, namely :—
In teh said notification,
(a) in clause 2,—in sub-clause (a), under the heading 'Composition', for item (ii), the following shall be substituted, namely ;—
"(ii) one representative each of the main steel plants, that is to say, the Tata Iron and Steel Company Limited, the Indian Iron and Steel Company Limited, the Bhilai Steel Plant, the Bak.iro Steel Plant, the Durgapur Steel Plant and the Rourkcla Steel Plant under the Steel Authority of India Limited.";
(b) under the heading 'Functions', after sub-clauso (9), the following sub-clauses shall be inserted, name- ly ;—
"(9A). The Committee may add an element to the ex- works prices determined under sub-clause (8) for constituting a fund for modernisation, research and development with the Qbject of ensuring the production of iron and steel in the desired cate- gories and grades by the main steel plants. In the matter of operation of this fund, the Committee shall perform its functions in accordance with, ind subject to, such regulations or directions as may be issued by the Central Government from time to time.
9(B). The Committee may also add any other clement to the ex-works prices determined under sub- clause (8) to enable il to discharge its functions and to implement specific schemes entrusted to it by the Central Government."
(c) in sub-clauso (13), in item (B), under sub-item (b).
(i) under the heading "Members" after serial No. (x) and the entries relating thereto, the following shnil be substituted, namely :—
"(xi) Secretary, Ministry of Works and Housing.
(xii) Development Commissioner, Small Scale Industries.
(xiii) Chairman, Steel Authority of India Limited.
(xlv) Director (Commercial), Steel Authority of India Ltd,
(xv) Managing Director, Bhilai Steel Plant,
(xvi) Managing Director, Rourkela Steel Plant,
(xvii) Managing Director, Duragapur Steel Plant,
(xviii) Managing Director, Bokaro Steel Plant.
(xix) Managing Director, Tata Iron and Steel Com- pany Limited.
(xx) Managing Director, Indian Iron and Steel Company Limited.
(ii) under the heading Member-Secretary, the existing serial No. "(xxi)" shall be renumbered as serial No. '(xxii)".
