NOTIFICATIONS
CENTRAL EXCISES
G.S.R. 6(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944 read with sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance) Act, 1957 (58 of 1957) and in supersession of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 28/78-Central Excises, dated the 4th February, 1978 and No. 20/69-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1969, the Central Government hereby exempts sugar falling under sub-item (2) of Item No. 1 of the First Schedule to the Cen- tral Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), from the whole of the duty of excise and additional duty of excise leviable thereon.
2, This notification shall remain in force upto and inclu-
sive of the 30th day of September, 1979.

10 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART H—SEC. 3(j)]GAR. 7(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, read with rule 92-B of the Central Excise Rules, 1944 and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No, 26/ 78-Central Excises, dated 4th February, 1978, (he Central Government hereby exempts the difierent sizes of centiifugals installed for the manufacture of khandsari sugar in the units working with or wi.hout the aid of sulphitation plants, as the case may be, from whole of the weekly rate of duty of excise per centrifugal leviable thereon.
2. This notification shall remain in force upto and inclu-
sive of the 30th day of September, 1979.
