G, S. R. 12 (E)—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962),
20 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)]the Central Government, being satisflod that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the good? specified in column (2) of the Table annexed hereto and falling under th Heading Number of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), spocificd in the corresponding entry in column (3) thereof, when imported into India on or after the date of publication of this notification in the Official Oflretto, from that portion of the duty of customs specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of the rate specified in the corres- ponding entry in column (4) of the said Table,

2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of the 30th day of June, 1979.

section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 35 of the Finance Act, 1978 (19 of 1978) the Central Government, being satisfied that It is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts Soda Ash of dense variety and Soda Ash of light variety, falling under Heading No. 28.01/58 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India on or after the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, from the whole of the auxiliary duty of customs leviable there on under sub-section (1) of section 35 of the said Finance Act.
This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of the
31st day of March, 1979.
