Subject : Import Policy, 1978-79—Import of Viscose staple
fibre and polyester filament yum.
F. No. IPC/3/15/78.—Attention is invited to the Import Policy, j978-7y published under the Department of Commerce Public Notice No. 22-ITC(PN)/78 dated the 3rd April, 1978, as amended from time to time.
2, It has bten decided to de-canalise the imports of poly- ester filament yam (base flat—first quality only). Accordingly entry No. 36 appearing in Appendix 8 of Import Policy, 1978-79 shall be amended to read as under :—
"Polyester filament yarn (other than base Hat—nrst qua-
lity)".
3. Imports of polyester filament yarn (base flf " qua- lity) will be allowed in the following cases undr uptn Gen- (i) Actual Users (Industrial) subject to conditions laid down in OGL No. 3/78 dated 3-4-1978 as amended under ITCf Order No. 5/79 dated 29-1-1979.
(ii) State Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Corporation of India subject to the conditions laid down \n IXC Order No. 5/79 dated the 29th January, 1979. '
(iii) Association and Cooperative Societies of aclual Users recognised by the concerned State Director of Indus- tries subject to the conditions laid down in ITC Ordoi No. 5/79 dated 29-1-1979 and Department of Commerce Public Notice No. 31-lTC(PN)/78 dated the 15th May, 1978.
4. Import of viscose staple fibre is already allowed to Actual Users (Industrial) under Open General Licence for shipments on cr before 31st March, 1979 without any grace period whatsoever, subject to the conditions laid down in (JOL No. 3/78 dated the 3rd April, 1978. Such imports shall also be subject to the further condition regarding regis- tration of contracts with the Textile Commissioner ;m laid down in ITC Order No. 5/79 dated the 29th January, 1979.
