NOTIFICATION

S.O. M(E).—Whereas the Government of Punjab have intimated some alterations in the boundaries of certain terri- torial divisions referred to in the description of constituencies given in Schedule XVITT of the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 1976;
And whereas the Commission considers it necessary and expedient to make amendments in the description of tie ex- tent of constituencies in the Schedule XVIII of the Delimi- . tation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 1976, to brine the Order up-to-date;
Now, lierefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by nub-section (11 of Section 9 of the Representation of the (1) In 14-Verka (SC), in the description of the extent of the Constituency, for the existing entries sub- uiliie the entries "Verka K. C, P.Cs. 38-Hcir and 39-Wadala Bhite Wadh in Attari K.C., P.C. 45-rung Pian in Amritsar K.C, and P.Cs. 74-Chhajalwadi 78- Dchriwala, 79-Jabbowal, 80-Malowal, 81-LoIa, and 82-Tarsikka in Tarsikka K. C. in Amritsar Tahsil."
(2) In 15-Jandmla (SC), in the description of the extent of the constituency, for the existing entries, subs- tituc the entries '"landiala K.C. P.Cs. 54-Bascrkc and 55-Sanghana in Attari K. C. and P.Cs. 46 to 48 Sultanwind and 53-f-atehpur in Amritsar K.C, in Amritsar Tahsil."
(3) In 17-Amritsar West, in the description of the extent of the constituency, foi the words "in Verka K.C." substitute the words "in Attari K.C."
(4) In 22-Attari (SC), In the description o£ the extent of the constituency, for the existing entries, substitute the entries "Attari K.C. (excluding P.Cs. 38-Heir, 39-Wadala Bhite Wadh 40-Gumanpura, 41-Chak Mukand, 54-Baserke and 35-Sanghana) in Amritsar Tahsil and P.Cs, 65-Gaggo Bua, 67-Musc, 68-Padri, 69-Sheikh, 70-MaIowal, 71-Ieobala, 72-Bakipur, 73- Walipur, 74-Mano Chahal and 83-Rure Asal in Kairon K.C. and Jabal Kalar, K.C. (excluding P.Cs. 37-Pandori Ran Singh, 38-I.aln Ghuman, 40- Kot Dharam Chand Kalan. 41-lhabal Kalan, 42- Jhabal Manan and 43-Thath Garh) in Tarn Taran Tahsil."
(5) 23-Tarn Taran, in the description of the extent of the constituency, far the existing entries, substitute the entries "Tarn Taran K.C. and P.Cs. 37-Pandori Ram Singh, 38~-Lalu Ghuman, 40-Kot Dharam Chand Kalan, 41-Jhabal Kalan, 42-Jhabal Manan and 43- Thath Garh in Jhabal Kalan K.C. and P.C. 66- Panjwar in Kairon K.C. in Tarn Taran Tehsil."
II. For the existing Note at the end of the Schedule mbs- xtitute t^ Note "Any reference in this Part to a district, tahsil, Kaminpo Circle (KC), Patwar Circle (PC), Ward or other territorial division shall be taken to mean the area comprised within that district, tahsil, Kanungo Circle (KC), Patwar Circle (PC), Ward or other territorial division on the 1st day of August, 1977, except that the reference to (i) Ward in Patiala Municipal Corporation shall be taken to mean the area comprised within the respective ward on the 1st day of April, 1975; (ii) the limits of Ludfaiana, Julltradur and Amrit- sar Municipalities to mean the limits as on the 1st day of September, 1975, and (iii) administrative units in 84-Bhadaur (SC) and 85-Dhanaula assembly constituency in Sangrur district and 113-Rampttra Phui assembly constituency in Bhatinda district shall be taken to mean the area comprised within the respective units as on the 1st February, 1976."
