NOTIFICATIONSG.S.R. 293(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (a) and (b) of sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Indian Ports Act, 1908 (15 of 1908), the Central Govern- ment hereby extends the said Act to the Port of Tuticorin, the precise extent of the limits whereof has been declared in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Shipping and Transport (Transport Wing) No. G.S.R. 90 1373 GI/78 (521)

G.S.R. 294(E).—In exercise of tho powers conferred by clause (c) of sub-section (1) of section 4 of t h^ Indian Ports Act, 1908 (15 of 1908), and in supersession of tht notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Shipping and Transport (Transport Wing) No. G.S.R. 315(E) dated the 11th July. 1974, the Central Government hereby withdraws the provision of section 31 of the said Act from such part of the area of the Port of Tuticorin to which the provisions of the said section have been extended In the noti- fication of tho Government of IndiH in the Ministry of Shipp- ing and Transport G.S.R. No. dated the 30th March, 1979, as falls outside all the navigational waters (including all navi- gable channels leading to the Port of Tuticorin), within the following limits, namely :— On the North :

(a) line joining the northern boundary pillars THP 26 and

THP 27 of the Tuticorin Harbour Estate,

(b) thence along the high water mark upto the outer edge

of the North Breakwater,

(c) thence along the outer edge of the same Breakwater

where it meets the parallel of latitude 8"45' North,

(d) thence along the parallel of latitude 8*45' North to a position In latitude 8*45' North and longitude 78°17'3O" East.

On the East :

Line ioining a position in latitude 8*45' North longitude 78°17'30" East to a position in latitude 8'41'OCT North lon- gitude 78°16'30" East.

On the South :

line due west from a position in latitude 8"441'4D" North longitude 78°16'30" East to where it meets the point Ion- metres from the high water mark on the shore.

On the west :

(a) thence along a line 45.72 metres on the shore from high water mark upto the southern acquisition boun- dary pillar THP 1 of the Tuticorin Harbour Estate,

(b) thence along the southern acquisition boundary bet-

ween boundary pillars THP 1 to THP 6,

(c) thence along the western acquisition boundary between

boundary pillars THP 6 to THP 21,

(d) thence along the northern edge of the railway siding to Harbour between boundary pillars THP 21 to THP 24,

(e) thence along the western edge of the western flood bank of the Korampallam Surplus Course between the boun- dary pillars THP 24 to THP 25,

(f) thence along the high water mark where it meets the outer edge of the railway siding leading to North Break- water,

(g) thence along the outer edge of the railway siding to North Breakwater where it meets the high water mark and

(h) thence along the high water mark upto the northern acquisition boundary pillar THP 26 of the Tuticorin Harbour Estate.
