NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 31st March, 1979

CENTRAL EXCISES

G.S.R. 310(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and in superses- sion of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 1/79-Central Excises, dated the 1st January, 1979, the Central Government hereby fixes a tariff value of two hundred rupees per quintal for sugar falling under sub-item (1) of Item No. 1 of the First Schedule to the said Act and chargeable with duty ad-valorem.

2. This notification shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 1979.
