G.S.R. 316(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (I) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue No. 154-Customs, dated the 9th August, 1978, namely :—

I] G.S.K. 319(E),—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 oi the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962J and in supersession oi the notification of the Govern- ment of India in the Ministry of Finance (DcpaitmeiH of Revenue and Insurance) No. 27-Customs dated 6th May, 1975, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necossary in the public intciesl so to do, hereby exempts the following; articles, when imported into India by the Government of India or when shipped on the order of a Department of the Govern- ment of India and appropriated to such order at the time of shipment from the whole of the duty of customs leviable Uicieon unileT the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) and the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act, subject to the condition that such importation or shipment shall be in con- nection with the manufacture of armoured vehicles,, namely : —

(a) finished assemblies and components ;

(b) tools, fixtures, jigs and gauges required for the SDeci-

fic- out-turn of components ;

lc) instruments for testing the assemblies and comrjo ncnts;

(d) special raw materials other than armour plates; and

(c; half wroughts, like steel forgings and castings to be processed into finished components.

2. This notification shall be in force- up to and inclusive of the 3 1st Mnich, 1981.

G.S.R. 320(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962,1, the Central Government, being satisfied that it M necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes thn following amendment in the notification of the Government "t India in the Ministry of Finance, Derailment of Revenue. No. 24^-Customs, dated the 30th December, 1978, namely :—

In paragraph 2 of the said notification, for the figures, letters and word "31st day of March, 1979", the figures letters and words "30th day of September, 1979" shall be substituted.

G.S.R. 322(E),—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (32 of 1962) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Department of Revenue and Banking No. 174- Customs, dated the 2nd August, 1976, the Central Govern- ment, being satisfied that it is necessaiy in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts DDT formulations (75 per cent water dispersible powder—75 per cent w.d.p.) when imported intu India for use exclusively in the National Malaria Eradication Programme for public health purposes, from—•

(a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs levi- able thereon under the First Schedule to the Cus- toms Tariir Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of 15 per cent ad valorem; and

(b) the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of ihc Customs Taiiff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975).

Provided thai ihj importer, by execution of a bond in such form and in such sum as may be prescribed by the Assistant Collector of Customs, binds himself to pay on demand, in respect of such quantity of the D.D.T. which is not piovcd to the satisfaction of the Assistant Collector of Customs to have been used for the aforesaid purpose, an amount equal to the difference between the duty leviab'e on such quantity but for the exemption contained herein and that already paid at the time of importation.

G.S.R. 321(E).—Jn e.xeieisc of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), ieud with sub-clause (4) of. clause 31 of the finance Bill, 1979, which clause hits, by virtue of the declaration made in the said Bill under the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1931 (16 of Iy31), Out force of law, the Central Govern- ment being satis-tied that it is necessary in the public interest .so to do, hereby makes th: fo lowing amendment in the noti- fication of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, No. 59—Customs dated the 1st March, 1979, namely :—

the 31st day of March, 1981.

G.S.R. 323(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-clause (4) of clause 31 of the Finance Bill, 1979, which clause h;.s by virtue of the declaration made in said Finance Bill under the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1931 (19 of 1931), the force of law, the Central Govern- ment being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest, so to do, hereby makes Ihe following further amendments in Ihe notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Dcpaitment of Revenue) No. 53-Customs dated 1st March, 1979, namely :—

In the Schedule to the said notification—

shall be omitted;

(ii) after Serial No. 213 and the entries relating thereto

the following shall be inserted namely :—

"214. No. 77 customs dated 31st March, 197y

215. No. 80 customs dated 31st March, 1979".

G.S.R. 324(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by p section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 1962), the Cential Government, 'jeing satisfied that it necessary in the public interest o to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Min^try of Finance. Djpaitment of Revenue No, 197-Customs, dated the 14th October, 1978, namely :—
