NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 1st May, 1979
G.S.R. 280 (E).-—In exercise of ihc powers conferred by section 24 of the Purports Act, 1967 (15 of 19G7), the Cential Government hi.-icby makes the following rules further to amend the ' Passports Rules, 1967, namely :—
1.(1) These rules rmiy be culled the Passports (Fiflh Amendment) Rules,
1979.
(2) They shall come into force on the dale of their publication in the
Official Gazette.
2. In Schedule I to the Passports Rules, 1967,—
(.i) against serial No. 7, in the entry in column 3, for the word "Pondi- cherry", the words and brackets "Pondicheiry (excluding the Dii- trict of MaheJ" yliall be substituted ;
(ii) against sciial No. 8fi), in the entries in column 2, for llie word "Ernakulum", wherever it occurs, the word "Cochin" shall be subs- tituted ;
(iii) against seiinl No. H(ii), in the entry in column 3, for the words "State of Kerala", the words "State of Kerala and the District of Mahe in the Union territory of Pondicheiry" shall be substituted.
