S.O. 288(E).—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the House
of the People by reason of the death of Shri S. G. Murugaiyan
a member elected to that House from 30-Nagapattinam (SC)
parliamentary constituency in the State of Tamil Nadu ;
Now, therefore, In pursuance of the provisions of section 149
of the Representation of the People Act, 1931 (43 of 1951),
the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said consti-
tuency to elect a person belonging to the Scheduled Castes

Ca) 23 May, 1979 (Wednesday), as the last dute for
making nominatioas ;
(b) 24 May, 1979 (Thursday), as the date for the scrutiny of nominations.
(c) 26 May, 1979 (Saturday), as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures ;
(d) 17 June. 1979 (Sunday), as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary bo taken ; and
(e) 25 June, 1979 (Monday), as the date before which the election shall be completed

S.O. 290(E).—In pursuance of section 56 of the Representa- tion of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. as the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken for the bye-election to the House of the People from 30- Nagapattinam (SC) parliamentary constituency to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100/TN-HP/l/79(l) dated 16 May, 1979.
