G.S.R. 316(E).^In exercise of the powers conferred by sec-
tion 7, 8 and 45 of the Tndian Post Office Act. 1H98 (6 of 1898), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules fur- ther to amend the Indian Post Office Rules, 1933, namely:—
1.(1) These rules may be called the Indian Post Office (Hirst
Amendment) Rules, 1979.
(2) They shall come into force on the 1st day of June. 1979.
2. In the Indian Post Office Rules, 1933 (hereinafter referred
to as the said rules), in rule 1,—•
(a) in the entries under the heading "Letters" for the figures
"25", the figures "30" ihill be substituted;
(b) in the entries under the heading "Letter-cajds" for the
figures "20", the figures "25" shall be substituted-
3. In the rule 180-A of the said rules, for sub-rule (1-A), the
following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:—' S-No.

4. In rule 194 of the said rules,—
(a) under the heading "Embossed Envelopes", against llie entries relating to "For each (Inland) envelope", for the figures and word "25 paise", the figures and word "30 paise" shall be substituted;
(b) under the heading "Registration Envelopes", for the word "Rupees two and fifty paise plus ten paise stationery charges", the words "Rupees two and fl!ty-flve paise plus ten paise stationery charges" shall be sutetituted-
