S.O. 365(E).—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the Council of States due to the death of Shri Prana Chatterjee, a member elected to the Council of State from Bihar, before the expiration of his term of office ;

S.O. 367(E).—In pursuance of section 56 of the Represen- tation of the People Act, 1951, the Flection Commission hereby fixes the hours from 11,00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. as the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken for the eleciion to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100/CS-BR/2/79U), dated 27th June, 1979.
[No. IOO/CS-BR/2/79i3)] 5,0. 368(E).—In pursuance of the provisions of section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Klection Commission, in consultation with the Government of Bihar hereby designates the Secretary, Bihar Vidhan Sabhu Sachi- valaya, as the Returning Officei for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. I00/CS-BR/2/79 (1), dated 27th June, 1979.

S.O. 369<£).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 22 of the Representation of the People- Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints Shri Jagdishwari Prasad Vcrma, Deputy Secretary, Bihar Vidhan Sabha Sachivalaya, to assist the Returning Officer for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No, l(K)/CS-BR/2/79(l), dated 27th June, 1979, in the peiformance of his functions.
