NOTIFICATION
CENTRAL EXCISES
G.S.R. 432(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and Insurance), No. 57/72-Cen- tral Excises dated the 17th March, 1972 namely :—
In the said notification the following Explanation shall be added at the end,
namely :—
"Explanation-—For the purposes of this notification 'waste' means—
(1) a tangled mass of short lengths not capable of being disentagled
without considerable labour ; or
(2) short lengths not exceeding 1.8 metre, even if they are not in the form of a tangled mass and not capable of being used in the manu- facture of rope or cord."
