914 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PAR* II—SEC. >3 (i) ]Service Order No. 185, dated the 19th December, 1957, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha hereby makes the folldwing Rules further to amend the Lok Sabha Secretariat (Allotment of Residences) Rules, 1974 namely :—
1. (1) These rules may be called the Lok Sabha Secretariat
(Allotment of Residences) Amendment Rules, 1979.
(2) They shall come into force oft the date of their pub-
lication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Lok Sabh,a Secretariat (Allotment of Residences)
Rules, 1974,—
(i) to sub-rule (2) of rule 9, the following proviso shall
be added, namely :—
"Provide^ that if the former residence i" not vacated by the subsequent date as aforesaid, the officer will be liable to pay damages for use and occu- pation of the residence, services, furniture anc?
garden charges, equal to the market licence fee as may be determined by Lhe Lok Sabha Secretariat from time to time, with effect from the date he takes possession of the latter residence." ;
(ii) in rule 17—
(a) after the words "by the Ja"k Sabha Pecrutariat from time to time", the iy6rq( or U^ice the licence fee he was paying, whichever is higher" shall be inserted ;
(b) in the proviso, for the words "whichever is higher", the words "or twice the lioence fee he was paying, whichever is highest" shall be subs- tituted.
