NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 20th, July, 1979
CENTRAL EXCISES
G.S.R. 451(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby exempts prepared foods [consisting of cereals (such as wheat, Bengal gram and groundnut) and Jaggery] Jailing under Item No. I-B of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), intended to provide energy to infants or ( children or pregnant women or for nursing mothers, from the whole of the duty of excise leviable thereon :
Provided that it is established to the satisfaction of the Collector of Cen- tral Excise that the said food preparations are distributed free for consump- tion by the classes of persons aforesaid.
2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of 31st day of luly, 1979
