S. O. 467(E),—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (3) of article 77 of the Constitution, the President here- by makes the following rules further to amend the Govern- ment of India (Allocation of Business) Rules. 1961, namely:— 1. (1) These rules may be called Ihe Government of In- dia (Allocation of Business) (One hundred and thirtv-fmirth Amendment) Rules, 1979.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publi- cation in the Official Gazette.
"19. Ministry of Steel, Mines and Coal (Ispat, Khan ;iur Koyala Mantralnyu) :
Ii) Department of Steel (Ispat Vibh.ig) ;
(ii) Department of Mines (khan Vibhog) ;
(in) Department of COLLI (k.oyiila Vibh:iLi)
3. In the Second Schedule to the said rulis—
(a) under the heading "MINISTRY OF ENERGY (OOR-
JA MANTRALAYA)"^
(i) for the sub-heading "A. DEPARTMENT OF POWER (VIDYUT VIBHAG)", the sub-heading "DEPART- MENT OP POWKR (VIDYUT VIBHAG)" shall be substituted ;
(ii) the sub-heading "B. DEPARTMENT OF COAL (KOYALA VIBHAG)" and the entries thereunder ihall be omitted ;
(b) for the heading "MINISTRY OF STEEL AND MINES (ISPAT AUR KHAN MANTRALAYA)", the heading "MINISTRY OF STEEL, MINES AND COAL (ISPAT, KHAN AUR KOYALA MANTRA- LAYA)" shall be substituted, and under the head- ing as so substituted, after the sub-heading "B DE- PARTMENT OF MINES (KHAN VIBHAG)", and the entries thereunder, the following sub-heading and entries shall be inserted, namely ;—•
"C, DEPARTMENT OF COAL (KOYALA VIBHAG)
1. Exploration and development of coking and non-
coking coal and lignite deposits in India.
2. All malters relating to production, supply, distribution
and prices of coal.
3. Development and operation of coal washcries other than those for which the Department of Steel (Is- pat Vibhag) is responsible.
4. Low temperature carbonisation of coal and product-
ion of synthetic oil from coal.
5. Administiation of the Coal Mines (Conservation "nd
Development) Act, 1974.
6. Administration of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisit-
ion and Development) Act, 1957.
7. Public sector enterprises dealing with coal and lignite.
8. Administiation of the Mines and Minerals (Regulation and Development) Act, 1957 and other Union Laws in so far an the said Act and Laws relate to coal and lignite and sand for stowing ; business inci- dental to such administration including questions concerning various States.".
