NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 29th August, 1979
S.O. 491(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred on me by Clause 22 of the Cotton Textiles (Control) Order, 1948, I hereby make the following amendments to the Textile Commissioner's Notification No. CER|3|69, dated the 19th September, 1969, namely :—
In the said Notification :—
1. After Paragraph HID and the note given thereunder, the following Paragraphs and the note shall be in- serted namely :—
"HIE—On each, piece of non-controlled cloth other than dhoti, saree or bed-sheets, handkerchief, pillow-cases, napkins and towels etc. whic^feA' sold in specified length, in addition to the markings to be made in accordance with this notification, the following markings shall be made, namely ;—
(i) On the face plait immediately below the markins made in accordance with this notification, the words "MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICE PER METRE" and the amount of maximum retail price per metre in figures and the words ''INC. EXCISE DUTY AND ALL LOCAL TAXRS".
(ii) On every metre at a height not exceeding 2.54 cms. from the selvedge, tne words "MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICE PER METRE" and the amount of the maximum retail price per metre in figures and the words "INC. EXCISE DUTY AND AIL LOCAL TAXES" :
Provided that nothing in this paragraph shall aprUy to non-controlled clolh for which the maximum retail price exceeds Rs. 6.36 per metre ;
Provided further that the directions contained in paragraph IIIA, shall not apply to non-controlled cloth to which this Paragraph applies ;
Provided also further tha.t the cloth which is pro- duced by the producer having no spinning plant and which is further processed by a processor shall be stamped with the price in the manner indicated in this paragraph.
Note : li) For the purpose of this paragraph, the expression "Maximum Retail Price" ^shall mean Retail Price per metre inclusive of excise duty payable thereon and all local taxes, if any, payable,
(ii) For the purpose of this paragraph, the term "processed by a processor would also include the process of calendering,
(iii) Nothing in this paragraph shall apply to cloth delivered directly to the Industry for industrial use."
"IIIF—In the case of seconds, of cloth as defined in para- graph VI(4) below and which is the subject matter of para- graph HIE above, the word "SECONDS" and in addition to the maximum retail price already stamped thereon the maxi- mum retail price inclusive of excise duty and all local taxes at which the manufacturer desires to sell such cloth shall be stamped in the manner prescribed in the said paragraph THE."
2. Tn paragraph VIII sub-para 2(a), after the figures and letter "HID" and before the figure "IV", the figures, letters and mark "TIIE, IIIF", shall be inserted.
3. In paragraph VIII sub-para (4), after the figure and letter "TTTD," the figures, word and letters "HIE and IIIF" shall be inserted.
4. This amendment shall come into force with immediate effect.
