NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 13 th September, 1979
G.S.R. J37(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of Hie All India Services Act, 1951 (61 of 1951), the Central Govern- ment, in consultation with the State Government of Sikkim, hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Police Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, namely :—
(1) These rules may be called the Indian Police Service (Recruitment) Amend-
ment Rules, 1979.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the
Gazette of India.
2. After sub-rule (.4) of rule 4 of the rules, the following sub-rule shall
be added, namely :—
"(5) notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained in this rule, in relation to (he Stale of Sikkim, recruitment to the State Cadre On its initial constitution shall he made by such method as the Central Government may, after consultation with the State Government and
the Commission, prescribe."
