New Delhi, the 25th September, 1979
S.O. 549(E).—Whereas by its order dated 25th September, 1979 in exercise of the powers conferred on the Election Commission by Article 324 of the Constitution read with rules 5 and 10 of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, paragraphs 3, 6, 7, 8 and 18 of the Election Symbols ("Reser- vation and Allotment) Order, 1968 and all other powers enabling it in this behalf, the Election Commission of India has decided to recognise "Janata Party (Secular)" as a National Party and to reserve the symbol "Farmer Ploughing the Field" ('Khet Jotala Hua Kisan') to it;
