NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 5th October, 1979
G.S.R. 572(E)—In exercise of (he powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Central Boards of Revenue Act, 1963 (54 of 1963), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Board of Excise and Customs (Regulation of Transaction of Business) Rules, 1964, namely ;•—
1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Board of Excise and Cuitomi
(Regulation of Transaction of Business) Amendment Rules, 1979.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the
Official Gazette.
2. In the Central Board of Excise and Customs (Regulation of Transaction of Business) Rules, 1964, to rule 3, the following proviso shall be added, namely:—
"Provided that during the period of absence of the Chairman, whether on leave or otherwise, the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, authorise one of the Members to discharge the functions of the Chairman."
