NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 8th October, 1979
S.O. 571(E)/Esg. Comm./Iron & Steel.—In exercise 05 the powers conferred by clause 17B of the Iron and Steel (Control) Order, 1956, the Central Govern- ment hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Govern- ment of India in the late Ministry of Steel and Heavy Engineering No. S.O. 1567/Ess. Comm./Iron & Steel, dated the 7th April, 1971, namely :—
In the said notification, ID clause 2, in sub-clause (a), under the beading 'Functions', for sub-clause (9A), the following sub-clause shall be substituted, namely :—"
"9A(1). The Committee may add an element to the ex-works prices determined under sub-clause (8) for constituting a Fund for—
(i) financing schemes, projects and other capital expenditure for moder- nisation, research and development, rehabilitation, diversification, renewals and replacements, balancing, additions to capacity, major new investments, or any other programmes for improving the quan- tum or technology or efficiency of production of iron and steel, or their quality ;
(ii) for compensating trie main steel producers for increases in costs of production over a base date and for elements of costs not covered or inadequately covered in the JPC prices in force on the said base date.
(2) In the matter of operation of the Fund referred hi sub-clause (1), -the Committee shall perform its functions in accordance with, and subject to, such regulations or directions as may be issued by the Central Government from time to time."
