IMPORT TRADE CONTROL
OPEN GENERAL LICENCE NO. 17/79
New Delhi, the 9th October, 1979
S.O. 575(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by Sec- tion 3 of the Import and Exports (Control) Act, 1947 (18 of 1947), the Central Government hereby gives general permission to import into India from any country, except the Union of South Africa/South West Africa and Rhodesia, all items of raw materials, components, consumables, machinery, equipment, instruments, accessories and spares (but not consumer goods how-so-ever described), by M/s. OIL India Ltd. subject to the following conditions :—
(1) The items permitted for import shJl be those cleared by the DGTD, New Delhi from indigenous angle.
(2) The import shall be made only against foreign ex-
change released by the Government for th* purpose.
(4) This Licence shall also be subject to the condition No. 1 in Schedule V to the Imports (Control) Order 1955.
(5) The goods so imported have not been produced or manufactured in the Union of South Africa/South West Africa and Rhodesia.
(6) Such goods are shipped or through consignment to India on or before 31st March, 1980. without any grace period, what-so-ever, or, in the case of machi- nery and spares, these are shipped on or before 31st March, 198 ] against firm contracts entered into and registered with a foreign exchange dealer Bank) on or before 29th February, 1980.
(7) Nothing in this licence shall affect th© application to any goods, of any other prohibition or regulation affecting the import thereof, in force at the time when such goods are imported.
