NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 31st October, 1979
S.O. 617(E).—In pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 8 of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Orders (Amend- ment) Act, 1976, the following Order made by the Election Commission under clause (d) of sub-section (3) of Section 6 of the Act is hereby published :—
ORDER
Whereas under clause (a) of sub-section (3) of section 6 of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Orders (Amend- ment) Act, 1976, the proposals of the Election Commission to amend the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 1976, were published in the Gazette of India and in the Official Gazette of the State of Gujarat on 9th September, 1977;
And whereas all objections and suggestions received In relation to the said proposals relating to the State of Gujarat were considered by the Commission at a public sitting held at Ahmedabad on 27th September, 1979;
The Commission hereby makes the following amendments in the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Consti- tuencies Order, 1976 (without altering the extent of any constituency as given in such Order) in respect of the State of Gujarat:—
I. In Schedule II of the Order, against item 4-Gujarat—•
(i) Under column 6, the figure "13" shall be substituted
for the figure "12"; and
(ii) Under column 7, the figure "26" shall be sub-
stituted for the figure "25".
II. In Schedule VI of the said Order—
(1) In Part A—Parliament Constituencies—
(i) In 9-Dhandhuka (SC), in the extent of the consti- tuency, "50-Gadhada (SC)" shall be substituted for "50-Gadhada"; and
(2) In Part B—Assembly Constituencies—
(ii) The serial No. and name of the constituency, "174-Navsari (ST)" shall be substituted for "174-Navsari".
