NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23 rd November, 1979
S.O. 756(Fj—The following notification made by the President of India
on the 23rd November, 1979 is published for general information :—
In exorcise of the powers conferred by clause fn) of article 371F of the Constitution, the President hereby extends to the State of Slkkim, the Mines and Minerals (Regulation and Development) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957), subject to the modification that any reference in the said Act to a Law not in force, or to ;i functionary not in existence, in the State of Siklcim shall be construed M a reference to the corresponding law in force, or to the corresponding functionary in existence, in that State :
Provided that if any question arises as to who such corresponding functionary is or if there is no such corresponding functionary, the Central Government shall decide as to who such functionary will be and the decision of the Central Government shall be final.
Provided further that notwithstanding anything contained in the relevant pro vision of the said Act for the commencement thereof, the provisions of the said Act shall come into force in the State of Sikkim on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazelle, appoint.
