सा० फा ० शि० 654 (प्र):-भारतीय पुलिस सेवा ( संवर्ग ) नियम, 1954 के मियम 4 के उप नियम ( 1 ) तथा उप - नियम ( 2) के प्रथम परन्तुक के साथ पठित अखिल भारतीय सेवा अधिनियम , 1951 (1951 का 61 वां ) की धारा 3 की उप- धारा ( 1 ) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए केन्द्रीय सरकार महाराष्ट्र सरकार की सहमति से एतद्वारा भारतीय पुलिस सेवा ( संवर्ग संख्या का निर्धारण ) विनियम, 1955 में और भागे संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित विभियम बनाती है, अर्थात्:

G.S.R. 654(E) . In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub - Section ( 1 ) of Section 3 of All India Services Act , 1951 ( 61 of 1951 ) , read with sub - rule ( 1 ) , and the first proviso to sub-rule (2) of Rule 4 of the Indian Police Service ( Cadre ) Rules , 1954, the Central Government , in consultation with the Government ofMaharashtra here by makes the following regulations further to amend the Indian Police Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations , 1955, namely:-
1. (1 ) These regulations may be called the Indian Police Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength ) Fourth Amend- ment Regulations , 1979 .
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publi- cation in the Official Gazette .
2. In the Schedule to the Indian Police Service ( Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations , 1955 for the heading "Maharash- tra" and the entiles occurring thereunder the following shall be substituted , namely:-

सा० का० मि० 655 ( श्र ) भारतीय पुलिस सेवा ( वेतन) नियम, 1954 के नियम 11 के साथ पठित अखिल भारतीय सेवाएं अधिनियम, 1951 ( 1951 का 61) की धारा 3 की उप-धारा ( 1) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए केन्द्रीय सरकार महाराष्ट्र सरकार की सहमति से एतद्वारा भारतीय पुलिस सेवा ( वेतन ) नियम, 1954 में और श्रागे संशोधन करने के लिए निम्नलिखित नियम बनाती है, अर्थात्: -
1. ( 1) ये नियम भारतीय पुलिस सेवा ( वेतन) सातवां संशोधन नियम, 1979 कहलाएंगे ।

(क) शीर्ष "क के अधीन राज्य सरकारों के अधीन भारतीय पुलिस सेवा में वरिष्ठ बेतममाम से ऊपर वेतन वाले पद" सारणी में , पहले कालम में और दूसरे व तीसरे कालम की भनुवर्ती प्रविष्टियों में "महाराष्ट्र" के स्थान पर निम्नलिखित प्रतिस्थापित किया जाएगा, अर्थात्
