NOTIFICATION

S.O. 794(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of action 22 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), and in supersession of its notification No. 434/GJ/77, dated 8 February, 1977, the Election Commission, in addition to the officer or officers appointed by its notifications No. 434/GJ/79(2), dated 3 October, 1979 and No. 434/GJ/79(4), dated 2 November, 1979, hereby appoints in respect of every parliamentary constituency and assembly constituency in the State of Gujarat, the Deputy District Election Officer1 of (he district in which the whole or any part of that constituency lies, as the officer to assist the Returning Officer of that parliamentary or assembly constituency, as the case may be, in the performance of his functions,
