G.S R. 720(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 67, read with flection 8, of the Monopolies and Rcstrictiv"fW'rade Practice* Act, 1969 (54 of 1969), lire Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to anipnd the Monopolies arid Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (Recruitment of Members of Staff) Rules, 1974, namely:—
1, (1) Theje rules may be cailed the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Prac- tices Commission (Recruitment of Members of Staff) Amendment Rules, 1979.
(2) They shall come info force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette.
2. After rule 3A of the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commis- sion (Recruitment of Members of Staff) Amendment Rules 1978, the following ru'e shall be inserted, namely :—
"3B Special Provision to appoint certain class of persons against promo- tion quota posts.—Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, in the case of posts for which promotion is one of the methods of recruitment and no person eligible for promotion Is available till the date of commencement of the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (Recruitment of Members of Staff) Amendment Rules, 1979, the Commission may, before resort- ing to any other method of recruitment, fill up the quota for promo- tion by appointing, with the concurrence of the Union Public Service Commission, any person who has been working on any such post for a period of not less than seven year."
