Indira Gandhi, a member elected to that House from 23-Rae Bateli parliamentary constituency in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub- section (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect a person to fill the said vacancy before 29th February, 1980 (Friday), in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made thereunder.

226 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(ji)]S.O. 68(E).—In pursuance of the provisipns of section 30 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (.43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby appoints; with respect to the bye-election to be hekl in 23-Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency in the State of Uttar Pradesh in pursuance of Its notification No. 100/UT>-HP/2/80(l), dated the 25th January, 19NO :—
(a) 1st February, 1980 (Friday), as the last date for
making nominations ;
(b) 2nd February, 1980 (Saturday), as the date for
the scrutiny of nominations ;
(c) 4th February, 1980 (Monday), as the last date
for the withdrawal of candatures ;.
(d) 24lh February, 1980 (Sunday), as the date on which
a poll shall, if necessary, bo taken ; and
S.O. 69(E).—In pursuance of section 56 the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 cf 1951), the Ulection Com- mission hereby fixes the hours from 8.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. as the hours during which u poll shall, if neceisary, be taken for the bye-election to the House of the People from 23-Rac Bareli parliamentary constituency to be held in pursuance of its Notification No. 100/UP-HP/2/80U), dated the 25th January, 1980.
