NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the 281h February, 1980
G.S.R. 6S(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 12 of Ihe Government Savings Certificates Act, 1959 (46 of 1959), the
Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Post Office Savings Certificates Rules, I960, namely :-—
1. (1) These rules may be called the Post Office Savings Certificates (Amendment) Rules, 1980,
(2) They shall come into force with immediate effect.
2. In rule 31 of the Post Office Savings Certificates Rules, 1960 :—
(1) For clause (d) of sub-rule (2), the following shall be substituted, namely : —
"(d) The amounts (including interest) payable on discharge of 1-Year National Savings Certificates (II Issue) of different denominations Issued on or after the 1st October, 1979, shall b= as In the following Table, namely :—
TABLE
Surrender values of 7-Year National Savings Certificates (It Issue) issued on or after 1st October, 1979
Face Value
After 7 completed years
After 5 completed years but before completion of 6 years
After 4 completed years but b:fore completion of 5 yn.
After 3 completed years but before completion of 4 yrs.
After 6 completed years but before completion of 7 years
119 [wrll—<*** 3(i)] mrmvi(ii) in sub-rule (4),~
(a) for the existing heading "TABLE" "TABLE A" shall be substituted ;
(b) after "TABLE A", for the existing words, figures and brackets "Surrender value? of 7-Year National Savings Certificates (II Issue) encashed under rule 22(3)", the following words, figures and brackets shall be sustitutcd, namely :— "Surrender values of 7-Year' National Savings Certificates (JMssue) issued prior to 1-10-1979, encashed under Rule 22(3)"
(c) After Table A, the following Table B shall be inserted, namely :—
"TABLE-B
Surrender value of 7-year National Savings Certificates (Il-Issue) issued on or after 1st October, 1979, encashed under Rule 22(3)

2. In rule 26 of the National Savings Certificates (V Issue) Rules, 1973 :—
(a) In sub-rule (1), for the existing Table E, the following shall ba substituted namely :—

(V Issue) encashed under Rule 18(2)", the following words, figures, and brackets shall be substituted, namely :— "Surender value of 7-Yeal National Savings Certificates (V-Issue) issued prior to 1st October, 1979, encashed under Rule 18(2)" ;
(iii) after Table A the following Table B shall be inserted :-•
