CENTRAL EXCISES
GSR. 180(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (De- partment of Revenue} No. 9/80-Central Excises, dated the 29th February, 1980, the Central Government heretfy fixes a tariff value of four hundred and thirty rupees per quintal of sugar falling under sub-item (1) of Item No. 1 of tho First Schedule to the said Act and chargeable with duty ad-valorem, —
Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to sugar required by the Central Government to be sold under clause (f) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955),
