NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 18th April, 1980

CUSTOMS

G.S.R. 213(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest sO to do, hereby exempts aluminium wire rods or aluminium ingots falling within Chapter 7ft of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India, from—

(.i) the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon

under the First Schedule to the said Cnsioms Tariff Act; and

(ii) the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon under

section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act.

2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of

the 30th September, 1980.

necessary in the public interest so to do hereby exempts alu- minium scrap, falling within Chapter 76 of the First SchedtrW to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India, from—•

(i) so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon, which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of 35 per cent ad valorem; and

(ii) the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon CUSTOMS

under section 3 of the said second mentioned Act.

2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of

the 31st December, 1980.

In the Schedule annexed to the said notification after Serial No. 237 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be inserted namely :—

"238 No. 79-Customs, dated 18-4-1980".

CUSTOMS

G.S.R. 216(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the" Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 4 of the Finance Act, 1980 (13 of 1980), the Central Government, being satis- fied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the •notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Depart- ment of Revenue) No. 41-Customs, dated 25th March, 1980 namely :—

In the Schedule annexed to the said notification, after Serial No. 238 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be inserted namely :—

"239 No. 81-Customs, dated 18-4-1980."
