NOTIFICATION
CENTRAL EXCISES
G.S.R. 279(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 268/79-Central Excises [G.S.R. 566(E)] dated the 4th October, 1979, the Central Government hereby exempts aluminium ingots, and wire rods, wire bars and billets manu- factured by any producer from hot aluminium metal, falling under Item No. 27 of the First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), and required by the Central Government to be sold or supplied in terms of the provisions contained in the Aluminium (Control) Order, 1970 as in force for the time being, read with the notifica- tions issued thereunder, from so much of the duty of excise
546 THE GAZETTE OF JNDJA ; EXTRAORDINARY fpARr H—SEC. 3(i>]leviable thereon as is in excess of the duty calculated on the basis of the value arrived at after deducting the aluminium price equalisation amount from the sale price fixed by the Central Government in terms of the provisions contained In the aforesaid Order as the price payable for such alu- minium ingots, and such wire rods, wire bars, and billets to the producer thereof.
Explanation.-—In this notification, the expressions "alumi- nium price equalisation amount" and "producer" shall have the same meanings as Hrc assigned to them in the Aluminium (Control) Order, 1970.

G.S.R. 280(K),—In exercise of the power* (tonferrcd by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hureby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India In the Minis- try* of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 187i/78-Central Excises, dated the I8th October, 1978, namely :—
In the said notification, for the words "other than alumi- nium ingots", (he words "other than aluminium ingots, and wire rods,' wire bars and billets manufactured by any pro- ducer from hot aluminium metal" shall be substituted.
