ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA
NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the 24th June, 1980
S.O. 458(E).—Whereas the President has, by notification published in the Gazette of India on the 24th June, 1980, called upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Haryana to elect two members to the Council of States.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 39 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints with respect to the said election-
fa) 1st July, 1980 (Tuesday), as the last date for making
nominations;
(b) 2nd July, 1980 (Wednesday), as the date for the
scrutiny of nominations ;
(c) 4th July, 1980 (Friday), as the last date for the
withdrawal of candidatures;
(d) 11th July, 1980 (Friday), as the date on which a
poll shall, if necessary, be taken ; and
(e) 15th July, 1980 (Tuesday), as the date before which

S.O, 459(E).—In exercise of trre powers conferred by sec- tion 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the HIection Commission hereby fixes the hours from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. as the hours during which ihe poll shall, if necessary, be taken at the biennial election to the Council of States, to be held in pursuance of the President's notifica- tion published in the Gazette of India on the 24th Jure, 1980.

S.O. 461(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section Ol of section 22 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints the Deputy Secretary, Haryana Vidhan Sabtra, to assist the Returning Officer, appointed vide Commission's notification No. 318/HR/8O<3), dated the 24th June, 1980, for the Biennial Election to the Council of Slates, in the perform- ance of his functions,
