NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 5th luly, 1980 G S R. 396IE).—The following draft of certain rules further to amend ihs Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1955, which Lhe Central Goven ment proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of tlis section 23 lead with the proviso tb that sub-section of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 (37 of 1954) is hereby published as required by sub- section (1) of the said section 23 for the information of till persons likely tu be affected thereby; and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules will be- taken inito consideration after the expiry of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Gazette of India in which the notification is published ate made available to the public.
Any objection or suggestion which may be received from any person wilh respect to the said draft rules before the expiry of the period so specified, will be considered by the Central Government.
DRAFT RULES
1. These rules may be called the Prevention of Food Adulteration (Amend-
ment) Rules, 1980.
2. In the Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1955, in Appendix B, in
item A 19, for standard (x), the following shall be substituted, namely :—
"00 It shall contain raw or refined sesame <(il) oil not less than 2-5 percent by weight, but sufficient so that the colour prudiued by the Baudouic tot shall not be lighter than 2,0 Red units in a 1 cm cell on a lovibond scale.".
