NOTIFICATIONS

CUSTOMS
G.S.R. 443(E).—In exercise ofthepowers conferred by sub- section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts parts of photographic cameras, falling within Chapter 90 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India for the manufacture of photographic cameras, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First schedule as is in excess of 40 per cent ad valorem.
2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive of
the 30th June, 1981.

778 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3*i)JG.S.R. 444(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it Is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts tugs or labels (whether made of paper, cloth or pk.stic), or printed polythene bags, when imported into India for fixing on arti- cles for export or for packing of such articles, from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is spe- cified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) and also from the whole of the additional duty leviable under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act, subject to the following conditions, namely ;—
(i) the importer, by the execution of a bond in such foiin and for such, sum as may be prescribed by the Assistant Collector of Customs, binds himself to pay on demand in respect of such tags or labels oi printed polythene bags, as are not proved to the satisfaction of the Assistant Collector of Customs to have been used for the aforesaid purpose, SIT amount equal to the difference between the duty leviable on such tags or labels or printed polythene bags but for the exemption contained herein and that already paid at the time of importation,
(ii) the Importer satisfies the Assistant Collector of Cus- toms that the articles so imported have been export- ed within six months of the date of importation or within such extended period as may be permitted by the Assistant Collector of Customs.

G.S.R. 445(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962. (52 of 1962), rend with iub-section (4) of section 4 ot the Finance Act, 1980 (13 of 1980), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest ^o to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notifi- cation of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No, 41-Customs, dated 25th March, 1980, n;imely:—
In the Schedule annexed to the said notification, after serial No. 253 and the entries relating thereto the following shall be inserted, namely :—.
"254 No. 1 JO Customs, dated 23rd July, 80."
