NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 28th July, 1980

CUSTOMSG.S.R. 449(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), and in supersession of the notification of the Govern- ment of Jndia in the Department of Revenue and Banking No, 183-Cmtoms, dated the 2nd August, 1976, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the bags specified in the Table below, from the whole of the duty of Customs leviable thereon under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), and the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act. (787) 508 GI/80.

(a) Hrnpty spare bags accompanying Imporl consignments of bagged manure and foodgrairrs to the extent of one per cent of the total number of bags which contain carfio and which aro specified in the bill of lading ; and

(b) Empty spare bags accompanying import consignments of bagged milk powder to the extent of two per cent of the total number of bagu which contain cargo and which are specified in the bill of lading.

G.S.R. 450(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-tection 4 of sec,ion 4 of the Finance Act, 1980 (13 of 1980), the Central Government, being satisfied that it in necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the noti- fication of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 41-Customs, dated the 25th March, 1980, namely:—

In the Schedule of the said notification—

(a) serial No. 58 and the entries relating thereof shall

be omitted ;

"255. No. 155-Cutrtoms, dated the 28th July, 1980".
