CHNTRAL EXCISES
G.S.R. 160(E).—In exercise of [he powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No, 64/80-Contral Excises, dated the 31st JVIuy, 1980, the Central Government hereby fixes a 'taiifl' value of Five hundred, u id twenty rupees (Rs. 520) per quintal of sugar falling under sub- item (1) of item No. 1 of the First Schedule to the said Act and chargcnhle with duty ad-valorem.
Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to sugar required hv the Centra] Government to be sold, under clause (f) of sub-sec- tion (2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).
