NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 30th August, 1SV80
S.O. 697(E).—Whereas the Central Government had constituted by notifica- tion of the Governmen of India in the crswhilo Minisry of Irrigation and Power, No. S.O. 1421, dated the the 10th April, 1969, issued under section 4 of the Inter-State Water Disputes Act, 1956 (33 of 1956), the Godavari Water Disputes Tribunal tq adjudicate upoa the water dispute regarding the jnter- Stato river, Godavari, and the river valley thereof ;
And whereas, the said Tribunal investigated the matter referred to it and forwarded to the Central Government under sub-section (2) of section 5 of the said Act, a report sotting out the facts as found by it and giving its decision on the matters referred to it ;
And whereas, upon consideration of the said decision, the Central Govern- ment and the Governments of the States of Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra made references to the said Tribunal under sub-section (3) of section 5 of the said Act and the Tribunal, on such references, forwarded to tha Central Government under that sub-section a further report giving such explana- tions and guidance as it deemed fit ;
And whereas, the decision of the said Tribunal as modified by the explana- tion and guidance given in its further report was published by the Central Go- vernment as required by section 6 of the said Act, vide notification of the Govern- ment of India in the Ministry of Irrigation No. S.O. 577U-:i dated the 26th July 1980.
Now, therefore, in cxerciae of ihe powers conferred by section 12 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby dissolves the said Tribunal with effect from the afternoon of the thirty-first day of August, 1980.
