ORDERS.O. 838(E).—Whereas the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section ISA of the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 (65 of 1951) by the Orders of the Government of India, in the late Ministry of Industrial Development No S.O. 601(E)/18A/IDRA/74, dated the 8th October, 1974 and the Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial De- velopment) No. S.O. 566(E), dated the 25th September, 1978- authorised the Board of Management specified therein to take over the management of the whole of the industrial under- taking, namely, Messers. Eastern Distilleries Private Limited, Calcutta for a period of five years, commencing from the- 8 th October , 1974; 796 GI/89 (1557)

And whereas by the Order of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial Deve- lopment) No. S.O. 237(E), dated the 1st May, 1979 the Central Government authorised the Secretary, Sick and Closed Industries Department, Government of West Bengal, to take over manaficment of the whole of the undertaking, namely, Messers. Eastern Distilleries Private Limited, Calcutta, upto the expiry of five years from the 8th October, 1974;

And whereas by Order No. S.O. 556(E)/18A/IDRA/79, dated the 28th September, 1979, the Central Government directed that the said Order shall continue to have effect for a further period of one year from 8th October, 1979;

And whereas the said Orders shall cease to have effect on

the 8Ua October, 1980, after the expiry of the said period;

And whereas the Central Government is of opin. ^Tlat it is expedient in the public interest that the said Offier No. S.O. 601(E)/18A/IDRA/74, dated the 8th October, 1974 as amended from time to time, should continue to have effect after the expiry of the period of six years aforesaid;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (2) of section 18A of the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 (65 of 1951), the Centra] Government hereby directs that the said Order dated the 8th October, 1974, as amended from time to time, shall continue to have effect for a further period of one year from the 8th October, 1980.
