S.O. 160(E).—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the Council of States due to the death of Shri Satyanarayana Venigalla, a member elected to the Council of States from Andhra Pradesh before the expiration of his term of office ;

(a) 17th March. 1981 (Tuesday) as the last date for making nominations;
(b) 18th March, 1981 (Wednesday) as the date for the scrutiny of nominations;
(c) 20th March, 19B1 (Friday), as the last dale for
the withdrawal of candidatures;
(d) 27th March, 1981 (Friday) as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken ; and
(e) 30th March 1981 (Monday), as the date before which the election shall be completed.

S.O. 162(E).—In pursuance of section 56 the Repre- sentation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. as the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary be taiken for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100/CS-AP/l/80(l), dated 10th March. 1981.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission, in consultation with the Govern- ment of Andhra Pradesh, hereby designates the SecretaTV, Andhra Pradesh Legislature, Hyderabad, to be the Return- ing officer for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. lOO/SC-AP/1/80 (1). dated loth March. 1981.

S.O. 16J(E). Whereas a vacancy has occurred in Iht Council of States due to the death of Shri Venkatarao Chadalayada, a member elected to the Council of States from Andhra Pradesh, before the expiration of his term of office;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub- section (1) of Section 147 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commision hereby calls upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh to elect, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder, a person to fill the vacancy so caused before 30th March, 1981.

S.O. 170(E).—Whereas a vacancy has occuned in trie Council of States duo to the resignation of Shri T. Anjiaha member elected to the Council of States from Andhra Pra- desh, before the expiration of his term of. office;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub- section (1) of Section 147 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby calls upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh to elect, in nccordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made thereunder, a pcison to fill the vacancy so caused before 30th March, 1981.
